The glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase DH01 is of bacterial origin and thermostable up to 80°C. The G6PDH reduces NADP+ to NADPH while oxidizing D-glucose-6-phosphate to 6-phospho-D-glucono-1,5-lactone as part of the pentose phosphate pathway.
